We have this 20.66 acre lode claim in Jackson County, Oregon for sale.
$9,500
The claim is known as Great I Am and was also called the Josie Jack back in the 1920's.  There are reports that a company called the Josie Jack took out $30,000 back when gold was $20 an ounce.  I also saw a report/writings that $20,000 was taken out in season when gold also $20 an ounce. History said to have produced $120,000.  Claim was bought by Henry V. Wilken in 1922 from Zeb Hyde.  From what I can gather from the old hand written reports the claim was closed off back in the 20's to protect it when the owner died.  I have one assay report showing gold was just under an ounce per ton at 0.94 ounces per ton and 0.13 an ounce per ton for silver.  This claim has 3 different levels with supposedly 1200 feet of workings in 3 levels.  Ore materials are listed on the assay report as free gold.

All 3 levels will need to be reopened.  They were apparently closed off by hand. A person should be able to reopen them by hand also.  We started as you can see in one of the photos.  If the claim doesn't sell we will get it open.  Keep in mind these profits listed above were when gold was $20 an ounce.  Compare that with todays prices and WOW, what a difference.  There is an old road about 1/4 mile long going to the entrance that will need some improvements.  If interested call Ken at 541-670-3938.  The photos below are of the mine.
